If another device was affecting the GPS the signal, you will see an almost immediate response from the GPS. GPS receivers can be affected by interference from other electronic devices, if placed too close (for example, a dash camera or CB radio). To rule out electronic device interference, power off any electronic devices in the vehicle and unplug them from the power source. Wait 2-5 minutes for the device to acquire signal. We first suggest you re-position the device in the vehicle and allow it a couple minutes to re-calibrate its new position. Please ensure you do not have a large overhangs, metal awnings, etc. This results in inaccurately calculated position.
Reflections generate multi-path signals arriving with a small time delay at the receiver. When weak signals are received, they may have been reflected off buildings and the surrounding landscape. In all three situations, the objects (buildings and the Earth itself) are substantial enough to completely block the GPS signals. This can be the cause of lost signal in urban environments, within valleys, and on mountain slopes. When an object lies within the direct path, accuracy suffers due to reflections and weakening of signals.
Your device requires a direct line of sight between the receiver and the satellites. No signal or weak signal normally occurs when the device does not have a clear signal view of the sky.
